I was a previous patient of Dr. Fiacco at a prior practice. Can I continue or reestablish care with him?

The short answer is yes - you are entitled to seek medical care whereever you choose. Though non-compete rules in medical contracts are bad for patients and providers; they exist none the less. These rules prevent a physician from notifying current patients about where they will be practicing out of fear that the physician will “recruit” a patient from their current clinic or health system. At the end of the day, you decide what clinic and physician fits your needs. We are happy you found us and will likely need to perform a little “leg-work” such as getting prior records if there has been a gap in care or . Please place a self referral with information in the comment box about where you received care with Dr. Fiacco.

What if I live far away from the clinic?

Despite the tragedy that was the COVID-19 pandemic, it highlighted the incredible power of technology and our ability to deliver care outside of a brick and mortar clinic. Telehealth is here and will be a growing part of healthcare. If your insurance provider allows, we utilize this to bring care to you, where you are. Laboratory studies and imaging studies can be ordered local to your home. In general, new patient evaluations should be completed in person (in a traditional clinic setting) to ensure that important physical findings can be assesed. Longitudinal medication management and coaching is very appropriate for ongoing telehealth care. Certain medications require face-to-face encounters for prescribing. These visits are non-negotiable for both safety and legal reasons.

Your first visit will include a full medical history as relevant to your presenting issue. Some issues require much more discussion. Your current and prior therapies will be reviewed. Dr. Fiacco is known to use pictures and diagrams to ensure that his patients fully understand the disease process and plan of care.

What can I expect at my first visit?

What is medical weight loss?

Medical Weight loss is the treatment of obesity as a complex disease involving factors that include environmental, lifestyle, medical, and genetic. While I do prescribe medications to assist with weight loss, I do not rush to prescribe “diet pills”. My general approach is to listen to my patient’s weight history focusing on significant changes. We dig deeply into various areas of lifestyle and medical history that may give us a targeted approach. Sometimes, simple changes in environment and lifestyle changes are all that is necessary. Other times, adjustment of current medications and the use of medications that assist in weight loss are necessary. In some circumstances we can facilitate evaluation for surgical weight loss therapies. This is a very holistic and individualized area of medicine.
